Granted this post has literally nothing to do with painfully dull war film the title lends itself to, but it had tailor in it and this post is all about tailoring so I ran with it! (See what I did there!?) OK, that was rubbish I’ll do better next week!
I’ve been looking through lots of trend reports on varies websites with week and general consensus is tie dye, layers and tailoring. As I would never (ever!) buy anything tie dyed, I’ll go ahead and tackle the other two!
I’m really into co-ordinates at the moment, I’m yet to find a great tailored suit on the high street though! I did spy (see I knew this title would work!) a dark green suit in River Island a while back but my mum said she had a suit like that for a wedding in the 90’s which put me right off buying it! I also got the dreaded one eyebrow raise, following by ‘I wouldn’t be my choice, but if you like it…’. I’ll never buy a item of clothing if that comment is made. So I’ve turned to looking at designers that I’ll never afford and fingers crossed the high street will catch up soon!
I love this Antonio Berardi Satin suit, I really like the menswear feel this has to it.
If the price of the blazer a lot makes you want to cry, take a look at this &otherstories power suit. Camel is always a popular colour for autumn, the trousers remind me of a classic Chloe design and I really wish I’d seen these soon as there now sold out.
I’m been searching Pinterest to find some inspiration, then came across these incredible MCBG Maxazria flared trousers! Then just to top it off the website now ships to the UK! BCBG has always been one of my favourite designers, I have the most stunning monochrome top I bought from Harvery Nichols in the sale but I never had anything to wear it with!
I’m also in love with this white cape, the touch of lace in this outfit stops it being so masculine.
Tailored outfits are such a simple way to create a chic outfit, as long as the fit is right. There is no excuse for sleeves being too long or trousers that are too short! Here’s a bunch of outfits I’ve found that I’ll be recreating soon! 🙂
Thanks for reading and happy weekend!
