So the past couple of weeks have made me feel officially like a grown up. ‘Why?!’ I hear you cry, ‘Your only in your early twenties!’ (OK, late twenties!) I’ve experienced something that’s never happened to me before! I’m suffering from seasonal skin disorder, granted I have made that up but it seems like an appropriate name! My skin is dry, kind of sore, my eye make up is irritating my eyes and overall I’m looking in the mirror wondering what happened to my face!
I realise this has started of as a rant post rather than a review post, I’ve started so I’ll finish!
So, Micellar water! Anyone not heard of this, every magazine I’ve read recently has been banging on about it. Naturally, I had to buy one and try it out. Side note…I’m a marketers dream, tell me a products amazing an I’ll buy it!
This Garnier Micellar water claims to remove make up, cleanse and purify, all without having to rinse the product off. I’ve used liquid make up removers before and not really liked how not every trace has been removed, usually resulting in having to wash my face anyway. I’m all for missing a skin care step but only if it’s worth my while. I’ve been using this for about a month now and I must say…it really does do what it says on the tin! After I’ve wiped off my make up, this is like I’ve already washed my face. Not a trace of make up is left, seriously!
The only negative comments I have is that there is no chance your getting 200 uses out of that 400ml bottle, don’t take me for a fool Garnier! I’m not 100% but I think this is really drying out my skin too, which under normal circumstances would be fine as I need that, having such oily skin. Overall though, I do love it and I’ll carry on using it and maybe combine it with a night cream to stop the dryness. Over a zillion reviews on a zillion websites can’t be wrong.
Talking of holy grail products, this Moisture plus Matte moisturiser would be have been a perfect addition to my skincare routine a few years ago! I say that because my skin is so dry at the moment I need more moisture but this really does work! I have seen a dramatic reduction in oil/shine creeping in throughout the day so its a winner in my book!
I LOVE THIS! Now I’ve tried a lot of primers, Smash Box, Benefit, No.7, nothing has worked as well for me as the Garnier Perfect Blur primer. I’m not sure if it’s because my skin has changed recently but this really does keep my make up from sliding off my face. The feel of this product is so smooth and light, if I was brave enough, I’d like to use this as a substitute for foundation. I’ve found that some primers tend to leave a more hydrated feel on the skin but for me, applying foundation onto that would just make it sink into the lines and pores…not cool! Not this bad boy though! Buy it, try it and obviously tell me all about it when you fall in love with it! 🙂
BB creams…who are they and what do they want?! I’ll be honest, I don’t know what BB means nor do I particularly care. I bought this (besides being in the Garnier range…see the theme?!) because I was feeling a little grown up, thinking maybe I’ll try and stop with the full coverage make up, keep it a bit more ‘real’. Wish I hadn’t bothered, I just don’t like this. I’ve tried the L’Oreal Nude Magique and hated that too so don’t take it personally Garnier! I must be in the minority as both of these products have a crazy amount of 5 star reviews but I think it’s because its neither one thing or the other. I do feel though, if this didn’t have a pigment this would be so much better, I don’t know who Light/Claire is but that girl is not for me! It’s patchy, heavy on my skin and after about five minutes I looked like I’d put a really cheap foundation on. Is this because I’ve spent years trying to cover up my skin…possibly but I’m not a fan of the old BB cream and that’s just how it is!
Well…haven’t I rambled on about skincare! There was going to be a fresh (bare, terrifying) photo of my skin to show you how good the Garnier skincare line is but stupid me didn’t take any kind of before picture! I just felt there would be nothing really to compare it to but I have seen such a difference in my skin tone and no shiny nose/forehead! Yay!
Anyone fancy a little ‘what’s in my make up bag’ post next week? I’ll clean everything first! Promise! Thanks for reading! 🙂
